Being a brand new Dance for Kindness leader was exhilarating! For me, I learned to be forgiving of myself and was able to then show more kindness to my dance participants. One of my favorite approaches that I used while instructing nervous dancers was….it really doesn’t matter how good of a dancer you are. It really only matters what your intention is. If you are kind to yourself and others, that will shine through in your motions. It’s not about the dance, it’s about kindness.

I can’t even begin to describe how incredible DFK was—It was SO MUCH FUN dancing with over 100 people in TIMES SQUARE NYC!!! It was amazing to have some of my students who came all the way from Virginia in the Bailey’s Upper Dance Company (current & alumni) participating in the event, too!! And I also got to do DFK at my elementary school in Virginia with over 500 students!

A big thank you to our sponsors from our GoFundMe as well as our parents Warren & Patti Epstein, and Coleen & Tom Zenker. We couldn’t have done the event without the help and support of Rhesa Richards, Mariana Todorova, Ben Zenker, Hopeton Lemon, Tina Casula Gross and Ricky and Joanna Wechsler. Of course, none of this would’ve been possible without Orly’s support and guidance!!

What an amazing event! We always love participating in Dance For Kindness and this year was no exception. We are so grateful that we have this opportunity to spread kindness and love in, and throughout our communities. Our favourite part is the kindness ripple that this event creates and the connections that are made between all who are involved. We look forward to this event every year and the everlasting positive emotions that it leaves imprinted on us all. Bring on 2018!

Our Chewelah event was extra special as it was done on the “official” day and magically the sun came out to bless the event! It had been cold, snowing, raining but as I drove off my mountain down to the valley the sun broke through and as I pulled into the park it was BEAUTIFUL , sunshine, warm beautiful fall leaves on the ground and a wonderful group of caring souls to share the moment with. As I packed things up the clouds returned the temperature dropped but I was warm inside feeling the connection world wide

My experience as a Group Leader for DFK 2017 was incredible! We were 150 strong that came to dance for goodness. Despite the heavy rain we continued the dance together with a joyful heart.
