Q&A with Charles

My life motto is that you should treat others how you want to be treated. Kindness should be part of who you are and something you exercise daily. It comes in so many different forms and can be something as simple as holding the door for someone else and saying please and thank you. I truly think that we can create a kinder society if we all just remember to take a second before we act and think “is this how I would like to be treated if the tables were turned.

Life is so short so remember to enjoy every minute of it, even the bad times because there’s always a lesson to learn and you’ll grow from every experience. Earth is such a beautiful planet and we are fortunate to share it, so take care of it and each other. We’re in this together.

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember and I was about six years old when I performed live for the first time. It was at a summer festival in the small town in Sweden that I was living in and I sang a Swedish folk song. To be honest I don’t remember much except being extremely nervous going up on stage and then feeling this amazing adrenaline rush as I was singing. When the song was over I just wanted to keep singing and I think that’s when I knew that music and performing was something I wanted to continue doing.

This is such a hard question. I listen to so music music and I constantly discover new songs that I love. One song I don’t think I could ever get tired of though is “Man In The Mirror” by Michael Jackson. The melody is absolutely beautiful and there’s so much emotion in his voice when he’s singing. Even though the song was written about 30 years ago the lyrics are still so relevant today and I don’t think we can ever be reminded enough that change starts within ourselves.

Revolution of Love

Performed by: Charles Preston

Lo-oh-oh-ove, Lo-oh-oh-ove, Lo-oh-oh-oh-o-ove (2X)

So many things I see that I would like to remedy
And save the world from its insanity
And if we all could shift our focus on the positive
We’d know the answer is to live and let live

Life’s a puzzle incomplete and everybody is a piece
Through empathy and human kindness we ‘d be the change we wish to see

This is our world and the revolution has begun
With open hearts we can see ourselves in everyone
Come and join us in a revolution of love

Lo-oh-oh-ove, Lo-oh-oh-ove, Lo-oh-oh-oh-o-ove (2X)

Let’s congregate instead of spreading hate and raise
the frequencies of love and start to pave the way

For all the violence to cease we must agree to disagree
To grow beyond power and greed, with selflessness we’ll plant the seed

This is our world and the revolution has begun
With open hearts we can see ourselves in everyone
Come and join us in a revolution of —

Lo-oh-oh-ove, Lo-oh-oh-ove, Lo-oh-oh-oh-o-ove (2X)

This is our world and the revolution has begun
With open hearts we can see ourselves in everyone
Come and join us in a revolution of love

Lo-oh-oh-ove, Lo-oh-oh-ove, Lo-oh-oh-oh-o-ove (4X)
