Meet Becky
Becky Epstein is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer based in Northern Virginia, USA. Becky grew up in Westchester, New York, where she began studying dance at the age of 5. She continued her dance training throughout college, and now has the pleasure of sharing her passion for dance with others as a full-time Elementary School Dance Teacher in Northern Virginia. She earned her Masters in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from James Madison University, where she also received her Virginia teaching license in Dance. Becky is trained in various styles of dance, but particularly enjoys teaching Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, and Modern. She is passionate about providing dance opportunities for all students. She works with a local non-profit organization to provide opportunities for students who graduate from her elementary school to continue their dance training in middle and high school. She has extensive choreography and performance experience.

Q&A with Becky Epstein
Kindness means showing compassion for others and treating others with respect. I think kindness means putting other people’s feelings before your own. Even the smallest act of kindness–saying “good morning” or holding the door open for someone can truly brighten someone’s day.
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
I am so honored to be the head choreographer for DFK this year! I am so happy that I get to share my passion of dance with the world!
Dance is a universal language. Dance isn’t just about steps, it’s about telling a story. I love that dance can help people express their emotions.
Becky is the oldest of three sisters and is very close with her family.
Becky is a certified Pilates and Barre fitness instructor. She loves staying active!
She loves listening to music. Music inspires her to choreograph new dances.
Becky is a dog lover!
She loves learning new things! She likes to challenge herself by learning new dances, getting new certifications, or educating herself on new topics that will benefit the students she works with everyday in her classroom!
Becky loves trivia. She wishes she could’ve gotten a degree in Jeopardy trivia.
Though she is very active, Becky enjoys a lazy movie day or Netflix day.
Becky loves going to the beach. She doesn’t go as often as she would like, but tries to go to the beach every summer!
